The girls who got tired of waiting for something real so you go chasing after a fantasy.

I was you not too long ago. Actually I was you all 2020. Bless us Lord with the strength to be ye patient and for me and my house, keep my DMs closed until 2021 (like April/May would be good time for those to open back up) lol

This week, I saw a post that (thanks friend for sending it to me) helped me make sense of where I went wrong this year:

The truth is I expect more because I am more. I bring more to the table but tend to extend too much grace for guys to play catch up. Especially when the signs are there that he’s not the guy. And ladies, if he’s not thee guy.. he’s the wrong guy.

Wrong guy too entertain. Wrong guy to pour into.

Wrong guy to sleep with. Wrong guy to be with. Wrong guy alert.

Don’t be embarrassed, be inspired. Sometimes sis, it’s not you, it’s the other party. (but let’s be real, it could be you…)

At the end of the day,

Take your L and move forward. It’s not the end of the world even though it may feel like it...

It hurts. You feel rejected. You also want to know deep down does he realize the damage that he’s caused.

It hurts but it also strengthens you in the end.

Feeling rejected? That’s only because you gave the wrong person access. It happens. Dust yourself off beautiful and keep it pushing.

Even if he does recognize the damage he’s caused, he is not going to apologize at this time. And if he does, it’s only because he got caught. Read in between the lines.

actually, DO NOT EXPECT ANYMORE FROM HIM.

Here’s 5 things you can do to get YOUrself back on track:

1. Write down what caused you to fall for potential… again
   • The truth will set you free
   • These notes will help you gain clarity about how you contributed to the “game playing”
   • You need an opportunity to see when you started settling and why
2. Set a goal for yourself to complete within 30 days.
   • Place the focus back on you, gorgeous
   • Will help you shift gears quicker
   • Motivation never left you, you left it
3. Channel each negative thought into doing something positive for/with someone else
   • You’re not going through nothing that God can’t use to bless others
   • Flip the script honey and make it an educational opportunity
   • Pour back into yourself and grow through it
4. Share with a friend(s) that you trust for accountability purposes
   • He will circle back around and you should have a plan in place (Don’t let him catch you off guard)
   • If the wound is still fresh, you should refrain from responding/reaching out. Call your friend instead
   • You need to be reminded that there’s enough grace for you too
5. Forgive yourself before you try to forgive him
   • You need to release yourself from walking in guilt and shame
   • Forgiveness is apart of the healing process. The process can not be skipped or rushed. Heal. Heal. Heal.
   • It’ll help you realize that this is one of the few losses that puts you back in the driver seat

You are loved. You are beautiful. You are chosen. You are somebody. You are the very individual that someone is praying to meet.

You deserve more, so stop settling. You’re worth the wait, so don’t succumb to peer pressure on any level. You and the bare minimum will never be a good combination. So don’t lower your standards. If anything, raise the bar a little.

you teach people how to treat you.

so remember this much…

one day, you’ll wake up and realize that he isn’t on your mind anymore

one day, you’ll realize that you were just bored and enjoyed the “entertainment”

one day, you’ll remember that self-care is walking away from anything/anyone that is trying to bring you down

one day, you’ll end up meeting the one who will help you understand why it never worked with anyone else
