So if you’ve been following me for any period of time, you know that I purchase items off the clearance rack ALL THE TIME.
I tell everyone that I do this because I’m not ashamed one bit. I could afford regular price items, but why do that when I can buy more on clearance…
Let me show how I make clearance items look good.
CLEARANCE OUTFIT BREAKDOWN
This is me in college going who knows where….

You probably can’t tell but the “skirt” I’m wearing is actually a dress. I tucked the top part in and added the belt to hide the extra fabric that was “untuckable”. The tucking was done so seamlessly that people thought that I was wearing a dress. I don’t remember prices but I do know that the top and the bottom came off of the clearance rack from RUE 21.
Just wanted to show you that I been about this “clearance rack” life.

Dressy Casual is my favorite “go to” look…

This outfit will be worn again using the same combination. The top is from a local boutique in my hometown and it’s so comfortable. I love that you can dress it up or down, depending on what you wear with it. Now the skirt is super long, which is typically how I like to wear them for work. Unfortunately it didn’t look right long with the top so right before I walked out the door, I tied a knot in the front. As I walked around Bridgestreet with my mom, I got more compliments on the skirt for sure. Maybe it’s the fabric or the pattern, but whatever it is… It’s golden. Wearing bold color earrings is always a must if you’re looking to add a little “drama” to the overall look. I lose sunglasses often, so I can’t pay the big bucks for those either.

Going out for lunch with friends or family? Shoot for a more casual look.

So I’ve lost count on how many colors I have in these tassel drop earrings, but I try to catch them on sale. They’re typically $12.99 but somehow I have only had to pay regular price on these once or twice. So my grandmother has a closet full of clothes that she never wears. Every now and then, I go and “borrow” something. This blazer I borrowed 5 months ago and will return eventually. So I have learned that if you have a larger chest area, tank tops are your friend. The tank can be fitted or loose. The extra fabric helps to cover up and hold some stuff up, if you know what I mean. The jeans are so comfortable and it’s really hard for me to find jeans that I love. I have larger thighs and I’m typically looking for comfort and a style that gives in all the right places. My only regret is that the store had very few jeans left in my size. I was prepared to buy more.

Sassy looks are most appropriate when it’s your birthday…

The sunglasses are not really me, but I bought them solely for my birthday photoshoot and fell in love. These fringe earrings are a personal favorite because they go with everything and they’re fun and flirty. Now this “off the shoulder” top is a favorite for sure and I’ve only wore it once. The only thing that I hate about the top is that it’s a bodysuit without the snaps, so you have to strip strip to use the bathroom. The pattern on the shorts is cute and the belt tie helps accentuate the waist line.

Clearance made my buy it and wear it well…
Just remember that nobody can do what you do, how you do it… but they can try. And if they succeed, tell him to just @ you on the ‘gram next time.
that’s my fashion inspo advice for the week!
