Superwoman is my M❀️M…

Welp Mom, I don’t need one day to express how much I love you , care for you, and appreciate all that you’ve done for me. I’m even more grateful that you understood how exhausted I was from traveling with my job this past week, and allowing me to stay in Jacksonville this weekend instead of coming home. As phenomenal as you are, I just felt like materialistic things wouldn’t do the trick this year. This is our first Mother’s Day apart, but I’ll see you soon.

If I ever forgot to say Thank You for the following, Thank You for…

  1. Pushing me out on the 7th of June instead of the 10th because 2 Divas could not share the same birthday. God knew exactly what he was doing and I guess you did too. LOL πŸ™…πŸΎβ˜ΊοΈπŸ˜‚
  2. Never have you ever passed off your responsibilities to someone else because from day one: Your girls have been your top priority.
  3. Allowing everyone to call you Mrs. Jordan, your facial expression cracks me up every time that it happens. πŸ˜–πŸ˜‚
  4. Your attempt to try to allow us to have a relationship with our dad, even though you knew there might be times he wouldn’t hold up his end of the bargain. πŸ˜’
  5. Marrying Mr. Anthony who helped us complete more school projects because you and I both know that’s just not your area of expertise. 😟
  6. In elementary school, you always stressed the importance of only signing up for punch or chip & dip. Now as an adult, I still do the same to save money.πŸ˜ŠπŸ˜‚
  7. Never allowing me to feel like I was at a disadvantage because I was being raised in a single-parent household. I’m stronger because of it now. πŸ’πŸΎ
  8. Keeping me involved at a young age with  extracurricular activities. Kept me out of trouble for the most part, which kept me from getting whippings. 😌
  9. Stressing that you do not mind whooping my behind as a kid. I still have nightmares about this one LOL. 😩😩
  10. Reminding me that a title doesn’t make you important. Remember when I was so distraught about not making senior homecoming court in HS or class president. You love to bring up old news.πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚
  11. Giving me $5-$10 for every organization that I wanted to join in HS, because of your weekly donation I landed a Leadership scholarship to college. πŸ‘πŸΎπŸ‘πŸΎ
  12. Telling me in advance that it wasn’t going to work with any of my exes. Your curse is working, I’m still single. πŸ˜•
  13. Being a helping hand when I was having seizures and reporting each one to the doctor, even though it hindered me from getting my driver’s permit and license on time. 🚫
  14. Making me feel as if though my high school graduation wasn’t a BIG deal, but you made my college graduation a HUGE deal. The tribute to pa-pa meant so much to me. ❀️
  15. Supporting my efforts to be a majorette in college and motivating me to be healthy so that I could sustain my weight goal throughout the season. πŸ‘πŸΎ
  16. Not being too mad at me when you found out I wasn’t going to Alabama State… After I had already applied, accepted scholarships, and begged you to go to family day. You began to love UNA more than I did, and that says a lot. πŸ’›πŸ’œπŸ’œπŸ’›πŸ’œπŸ’œπŸ’›πŸ’œπŸ’œπŸ’›πŸ’œπŸ’œπŸ’›
  17. Assisting me (FINANCIALLY) to become a member of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc. Sorry you had to do this twice, Thanks “Double Take”πŸ’šπŸ’•πŸ’š
  18. Not asking to see my grades in college like you did in high school, I couldn’t have handled the extra stress. You demanded I graduate in 4 years, I delivered. πŸŽ“πŸ‘πŸΎ
  19. Supporting me through every pageant adventure, even though they’re really not your thing. You should just pray that I don’t have any girls πŸ˜‚πŸ‘‘πŸŽ€
  20. Being willing to bail me out of jail when the judge was leaning towards giving me 90 days in jail for reckless driving (Speeding) I cried my eyes out that day, but you find it so funny that you bring it up every Christmas. 😞πŸ˜₯
  21. Giving your opinion on every aspect of my life whether I asked for it or not. Your favorite saying is I TOLD YOU SO. 😜
  22. Not getting too jealous when I come home and spend the weekend with my granny. 😁
  23. Granting me the opportunity to witness this: Heather Lindsey said it best “The most powerful gift a woman could pass down to her children is her example of faith & living for Jesus in the midst of hard times. 😘😘😘

You’ve had to tolerate my know it all self for 23 years now and with the help of the Lord (and don’t forget about granny & my late pa-pa) I would say you’ve done an outstanding  job. May God continue to bless you with patience and understanding in the future.

Happy Mother’s Day Michelle Nixon ❀️
