oh the joy I have found in failing.
It has become my stepping stone, the one platform that I don’t shy away from.
Here’s why…
I failed in the 6th grade when I ran for a position in student council. But I ended becoming class officer for 9th (secretary), 10th (vice president), & 11th grade (president).
I failed in my first pageant my 11th grade year in high school by not placing. But then I went on to college to place high in 3 major pageants: Miss Black & Gold – Queen, Miss South Seas – Queen, Miss UNA (Alabama Preliminary) – 3rd runner up.
I failed my freshman year of college applying to be on the Freshman Forum for Student Government Association. But my senior year in college I ended up becoming the advisor for the Freshman Forum branch.
I failed in my first attempt setting myself up for success by pursuing opportunities outside my comfort zone. But now in my 14th year, I stay booked and busy speaking on imposter syndrome for different groups on campus.
Failure is about perspective.
Failure is about shifting gears.
Failure is about renewing your mindset.
So just maybe embracing failure today is you embracing success down the road.
