Hope you’re enjoying this blogmas series. This is day 5 of 25 and I reached 900 views on the blog yesterday. So thanks so much to all of you who continue to support. I’m so appreciative.
I’m pretty big on spending time with family. It brings me joy to take a random trip with them or follow through on a trip that we planned. This past October, we went to Atlanta and it was so much fun.
So since I live in Birmingham, my family drove from Florence to scoop me up and then we headed to Atlanta. This is a 2-hour drive from Birmingham and do not forget about the time change. We had a smooth drive and traffic wasn’t terrible.
1st stop: Candytopia
Candytopia is the ultimate candy-coated adventure that allows you to move at your own pace.
I would recommend purchasing tickets in advance. Please note that no refunds will be issued and you can’t change the date of tickets on the day of, so keep that in mind when booking. Tickets do sell fast.
Admission prices
Adult: $28
Kids 4-12: $20
Kids (3 and under): FREE
My niece and nephew are under the age of 3 so it’s a win-win honestly and well worth it for adults too. I will say that it’s much more entertaining with kids present. Like, I don’t know if I would have enjoyed it as much without my niece and nephew going through each room. I was having fun because my niece was having a blast. But anywho, here are some pictures:
Stop # 2: HOBNOB
So I personally loved the restaurant that we went to in Town Brookhaven called hobnob. The food was higher but it was good and when I go to Atlanta, I don’t mind paying for the “experience”. My sister hated it and I’m supposed to be the pickiest eater out of the 3 of us. And yes we ordered the same exact thing. I think the price messed with her tastebuds a little… lol
The service was okay as they were pretty busy during the mid-afternoon. You do have access to park nearby and the parking was free on a Saturday. I would also like to add that we didn’t have to wait to be seated. Check it out and let me know what you think. I’d give it 4 out of 5 stars.

Of course, I needed some photos taken. And if I do say so myself, I look so good in Atlanta. For 2021, I’ve been to Atlanta 3-4 times and each time I can just see myself moving there the next day. I wouldn’t want to stay in the city just be close enough to it, if that makes sense. I’m giving myself 6 months before I make any major moves right now as much as I want to change up my environment like yesterday. In 6 months though, I’ll have my car paid off and look forward to spending that $300+ dollars elsewhere. I’ll have my MBA degree and yes I will be walking across that stage in July. And hopefully, my credit score will have jumped up a tad more so I can start pursuing home-ownership and get the best deal. I can’t wait to share my “started from the bottom story” when I secure the bag breaking into tech and the keys to my new home. Crazy story, I live in the basement of a home now. It’s the perfect set-up for just me. It’s a 2 bedroom and I have my own bathroom and kitchen. It’s been renovated recently and the rent is under $650 for everything. That includes wifi, utilities, sewer, etc. The point that I wanted to make is that when I moved there, God reminded me that THE PLAN is to always set me up nicely. It’s comfy and it’s cute. The parking in the garage blesses me daily though because it’s a glimpse into my future. Just wait and see.

And our next to last stop was Ponce City Market. I love that place. The views are so pretty there at night and it’s a great place for family to check out during the day as well. We couldn’t visit the roof there because you have to be 21+ and we had the kiddos but it’s on my to-do list when I go back. Apparently, they now have a skating rink there along with igloos that can be reserved. More details on the website.

I’ll definitely have to share more details about my living situation later. I kind of lucked up discovering it and there were 3 people on the list ahead of me who beat me to reaching out about the initial sublease. Luck has always found me. I’m not bragging at all but that’s why I have such peace in the most stressful situations. I’ve never not seen God make it all work in my favor. Like never ever. I mean speaking of luck, I ended the trip buying a $2 scratch-off & look what I won…

Signed,
Lucky to be Chosen
