by faith, (Just Do It.)

So isn’t it amazing how fear will have you BOLD enough to speak on something, but too scared to act on it…

I love in Hebrews 11:1, it starts out by giving the definition of faith. “faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not yet seen. (NKJV)”

By faith…

By faith…

By faith…

By faith… Just Do It, Brittany.

So I did a thing on Sunday night. It’s been something that I’ve thought about on & off for 2-3 years.

See the thing about sitting on something for that long gives fear enough room to let you be bold on a small scale, but not actually follow through with anything.

This blog was created to inspire others, but the other night…

It inspired me.

Inspired me to do more than just keep talking about it.

Inspired me to do more than just keep thinking about the what ifs.

Inspired me to “Just Do It.”

Because I’ve been challenging myself to dig deeper this year. I’m more likely to check the source, history, backstory on something before I just post/share it.

The Nike slogan “Just Do It.” has a very interesting beginning to it. I don’t want to creep anyone out, so I’ll share a little and encourage you to do your own research.

A man (whose name I won’t mention because I don’t want to bring his name any attention) was about to be executed by a “volunteer firing squad” in 1977 at a Utah State Prison. And his last words were “Let’s do it.”

That man was originally from Oregon. So was Dan Wieden. Dan was an advertising executive who was co-founder of Wieden & Kennedy agency.

Mr. Wieden once stated that “Creativity comes from doing the unexpected.”

And that’s exactly what he did. In 1987, Nike was struggling to keep up with Reebok. So they were preparing to launch their latest campaign and because one man felt like it didn’t make sense. He suggested that the brand/campaign needed a tagline.

Wieden was the man who came up with “Just Do It.” and as you know, this is still being used today. Allowing Nike to use this tagline to use the testimonies of others to inspire all.

So I finally did it.

I created my very own channel on Youtube after conducting another live #BNspired2day message on Facebook. I always watch the replay to improve and take notes for the next one. And it hit me on late Sunday that I was running out of excuses. I’ve sat on this idea for 2-3 years and finally told my self the truth: You’re never going to have everything in place!

I knew 6 months ago, I just needed to launch the channel. I just needed to give myself an opportunity to mess up along the way. I just needed to do it scared.

In 3 days, I’ve already learned so much about what this process will entail. It’s going to be work. It’s going to be hard. It’s going to challenge me.

I accept this challenge wholeheartedly.

I’m proud of me. And not just me the person, but the fact that I’m allowing the creator in me to step onto the scene more. So I want to encourage you to “Just Do It.” The start button will never push itself and you’ll end up creating enough excuses along the way to buy you a couple of years.

Such a waste.

Don’t waste anymore time. Don’t worry about who will/will not support you. Don’t even worry about how much it’s going to cost you.

Just Do It…

I hope & pray that from this day forward, your motto will be:

By faith, (Just Do It.)

#BNspired2day
