So I’ve lost count of how many times, a female who has stated these exact words to me in different settings this week…

Brittany, I just love you.

This may seem so simple to you, but I’m so thankful that sometimes our joy is found in the simple things.

In high school, I learned that I’m just not everybody’s cup of tea. And now I know that I don’t have to be IF I’m being who God created me to be. You’re spending so much time trying to be sweet tea, that you’ve forgotten how many people are still going to choose water at dinner because it’s free.

In college, I learned that just because you receive an applause from a certain section doesn’t mean that section should be classified as your support system. And now I know that a round of applause isn’t a requirement when you’re living out your God given purpose. You’re not a Facebook post, but if you treat yourself like one… Remember that your followers have the following options:

Like, Comment, Share, Ignore.

It wasn’t until I discovered how God viewed me by digging into the Word of God that I began to be unbothered with how people viewed me. Are you in pursuit of pleasing people or pleasing God? (Galatians 1:10)

It’s draining to live for an audience whose support for you is based off of their emotions, trying to communicate their inconsistencies by using emoji symbols. When you surround yourself with genuine people, you don’t have to question their motives. You don’t waste time over analyzing and trying to create confusion over something that’s so simple.

Women empowering women cancels out the lane of competition. The plan that God has for you is for you, and Jeremiah 29:11 tells us that his plan is to prosper us & not to harm us. Competition with your sister in Christ creates confusion, confusion creates doubt, and doubt trumps your faith. Now you’re walking around spiritually blind to the fact that you’ve given the enemy authority over your mindset, because competition will only steal, kill, and destroy your God given vision. You can only support what you don’t envy…

Be willing to promote HER business. Read HER blog. Encourage HER to start that vlog. Uplift HER with words of encouragement. Pray for HER future success. Purchase HER book. Share HER post on social media if it inspired you. Compliment HER look. Support HER efforts to be the change she wants to see in the world. Laugh with HER. Tell HER that you love her.

I’m so grateful that I’m at a place in my life that none of the above is needed for me to keep pushing forward to where God is taking me, but I also know that I’ve always appreciated the simple things in life.To all of you who continue to support me as I continue to share what’s on my heart, please know that I’m so appreciative and I love you dearly!!!
