I wish I could remember the person that told me that all you need to be successful in life is a college degree… Because they lied. I should have known that it was not that easy, but some college grads really had me fooled. I just felt as if though it was necessary to relay the message that there’s no need to rush what God has in store for, because you might just miss out on your blessing. Until then, I’d like to share with you some of my daily struggles:
I have probably tweaked my resume a 100 times because I keep thinking that just maybe I don’t look qualified enough on paper for the job.
I have actually lost count of the jobs that I applied for in total, and please don’t ask how many denial letters came from that process.
I never received proper training on how to conduct a phone interview, and I believe my southern accent puts me at a disadvantage every time.
The saying that you practically work just to pay bills is so true, especially if you move away from home to embark on your career.
If you’re single and working full time, that doesn’t leave much time for time to date and meet new people. Your social life will probably not even be a top priority.
Sallie Mae is not your friend, but you will soon become well acquainted with the customer service reps that are calling just to remind you that your payment is due at the beginning of the month.
Unfortunately I’m not a morning person at all.. Never tell your employer this info if their office opens at 8. I have to set 4 alarms just to get myself going every morning.
Ham & Cheese Sandwiches have become clutch for lunch because they are inexpensive and keep me within my budget when I’m grocery shopping.
Being a fashionista doesn’t help because I second guess every outfit I wear to work. My granny said if I think it’s cute, it’s probably not appropriate for work. Which really didn’t help at all?
No one on the job is going to praise your efforts on a consistent basis, so I’ve gotten use to telling myself: Good Job!
Regardless of how you’re feeling, your employer expects for you to get the job done. I’ve quickly learned to have my pity party before or after work. You’ll learn that you have to be prayed up to endure an 8 hour shift with some of your co-workers.
My only source of relaxation is walking the trail, reading my bible, and my newfound hobby: writing blogs.
If I have learned anything during this period of my life, it’s that Faith in God requires Faith in His timing. I’m so Grateful that God has blessed me wth all that I have, and I’m patiently waiting for him to enlarge my territory when the time is right . I’ve prayed for guidance and confirmation, and I strongly believe that God has me right where I’m supposed to be.
If you’re reading this and are questioning where you’re at in life… Remember that God can’t grant you a blessing that you’re not ready to receive. Everybody wants to be successful, but no one became successful overnight. You can’t make it to the top without starting from the bottom and pushing through the struggle. Your struggle will make you stronger as a person and more appreciative when you are blessed with that promotion, higher credit score, new car, or confirmation that you’re on track according to God’s plan for you.
While you’re complaining about what you have been blessed with, someone else is praying to receive what you’ve already been blessed with. You must always “Count your blessings” & “Give Thanks in all Circumstances”
Sincerely,
bnicolejordan- Surrounded by God’s Favor ❤️
